Dag Vijftien en Zestien, de boot naar Denemarken en thuiskomst

Zoals in het verslag van Dag Veertien is te lezen, lagen we te slapen in het Citybox Hotel in Bergen Noorwegen. Nu was Pascal al s’nachts een aantal keer naar de wc geweest en hem niets opgevallen. Maar Matthijs daarentegen, werd s’Ochtens wakker en vroeg aan ons waarom er een elektrische step in onze kamer stond.

Mystery Step

Totaal verbaast liepen Matthijs, Pascal en Stefan naar de WC en bleven staan met dezelfde vraag, behalve een niet nader te benoemen persoon. Die was naar de stad gelopen vannacht en dat bleek toch een beetje ver te zijn +/- 40 minuten lopen. Dit individu heeft toen, nadat de kroegen dicht waren nog samen met een paar barrelaars in een parkeergarage een “frisje” gedronken uit de persoonlijke voorraad van de jongens. Daarna moest hij weer terug lopen en in de hoek van de garage lag er vervoersmiddel bij het oud vuil die hij heeft geleend. Wat bleek, in de hele stad staan enorm veel van deze steps om te lenen. Zodoende was dit ‘The Hangover’ momentje weer verklaard.

In de ochtend kwam dit dus ook van pas om onze zware tassen te vervoeren naar de auto, die op een open parkeer plek stond bij een ziekenhuis. Het was namelijk niet mogelijk om in de stad, overdekt te parkeren met deze hoge auto. Alleen maar parkeergarages en geen plekken langs de weg. Overal verboden te parkeren.

Daarna even de stad in geweest om om 12:00 weer aanwezig te zijn voor de on Boarding van de ferry.

Eenmaal aan boord de boel verkend en de spullen naar de hut gebracht (deze was net zo klein en hetzelfde ingericht als de 2e ferry van Zweden naar Finland). En om 15:00 hadden we de uitreiking van de prijzen vanuit de organisatie. De categorieën waren: De Surstromm Challenge, Het Origineelste Team en het team met de meeste Pech. De Surstomm Challenge had niemand gedaan, maar wij als ijskapers hadden het blikje besteld ( komt rond 25 maart binnen) en wij zullen deze uitvoeren. Dus wij hadden al Officieus deze challenge gewonnen. En de Meeste Pech ging naar de “Botswansies” , die hadden in Finland al een ander team bijna uit dit avontuur gereden door een glijpartij en aanrijding en hun auto economisch total loss gereden ( is geen prestatie met deze barrels trouwens) en later kreeg men nog pech aan de Bobine waardoor de auto nog maar op 2 cilinders liep en hun ruit was half de deur ingevallen. Ducktape was hier weer de uitkomst. En het meeste Originele team was team RoSie (Roger en Sietse) in hun roze overall en roze Auto de Subaru. Dit waren erg prettige gestoorde en hele aardige mannen die er toch wel een uniek tintje aangaven de afgelopen 2 weken. ( hieronder onze prijs , wat foto’s van de boot en de uitreiking)

Eenmaal op het schip ( dit is nog dag 15) is het rustig vertoeven het restaurant en de bar tot aan bedtijd. Rond 22:00 is er een tussenstop in Stavanger (Marker 32) en dan is het doorvaren naar Hirtshals Denemarken. Het was een gezellige nacht tot een uur of 2 s’nachts en om 6:30 op Zondag 20 maart ( dag 16) stonden we weer klaar voor het ontbijt aan boord. Wat overigens weer prima eten was. En rond 8:30 arriveerde de boot in Hirtshals ( Marker 33). Alles weer de auto in en GAAAN… op naar huis. 850 Km voor de boeg met de auto.

Op dit moment willen we heel graag naar huis terug, naar ons gezin, vrienden en veestapel. En dan is 850 km erg ver en duurt erg lang , maar met de nodige muziek en tussenstops hebben we er toch wat van gemaakt. We hebben zelfs de formule 1 opgezet en gekeken.

Rond 17:45 , kwamen we aan in Eibergen eindbestemming van de Land Rover. Daar stonden de vrouw, de kids en de hond van Allard al te wachten. Net zoals de vader en de vrouw van Matthijs. Ook Stefan die in Winterswijk woont, kreeg een warm welkom thuis, met ballonen, vlaggetjes en spandoek. Super leuk!

Na even de auto te hebben leeggehaald en de spullen van Pascal en Matthijs in de auto van Matthijs te hebben gegooid, hebben we nog een heerlijke hamburger gegeten en zijn we op weggegaan naar Houten waar Pascal en Matthijs wonen. Ook dit was weer 1:30 uur rijden , zucht….. weer in de auto. Maar ook hier werden we warm onthaald. Bij Pascal thuis waren ook de ballonen en welkoms berichten opgehangen, en onthaalt door de vrouw en kinderen met aanhang. Even afscheid genomen van Matthijs, zijn vrouw en vader en toen pas kon Matthijs naar huis terug, naar zijn meisjes ( 2 dochters) die hij zo erg had gemist. Die werden wakker gehouden, zodat hij ze nog even lekker kon knuffelen.

Wat kijken wij uit naar een eigen bed en een eigen wc in een rustige warme omgeving onder je eigen douche.
